The Tricky Traders

 The Tricky Traders

Once upon a time, there lived two equally cunning men named Raigamaya and Gampalaya. One day, they met each other on the road. They chatted about their lives and decided to go into business together.

"Let's collect things from our farms and sell them in the city," suggested Raigamaya.

They agreed to meet at the same spot the following evening and travel to the city together.

Gampalaya went to his farm and filled a sack with pepper leaves. Raigamaya collected a sack full of kitul nuts. That evening, they met as planned.

"What do you have there?" Raigamaya asked.

"These are betel leaves. I thought we could sell them," replied Gampalaya.

"I have some peppercorns. They're very expensive right now," said Raigamaya.

They continued their journey, carrying their heavy sacks. They found an inn and decided to rest there.

In the middle of the night, Gampalaya quietly took Raigamaya's sack of kitul nuts and left. When Raigamaya woke up, he realized his sack was missing but Gampalaya's sack was still there. He was delighted, thinking he had tricked Gampalaya.

Meanwhile, Gampalaya reached the city and tried to sell the "peppercorns". To his dismay, he discovered that he had a sack full of kitul nuts.

Raigamaya, too, was disappointed when he discovered that his sack contained pepper leaves.

In the end, both men tried to outsmart each other but ended up fooling themselves.
